Our starting center fielder just need to get back into Braves Country for his Major League career to finally take off.  Cameron Maybin came to the Atlanta Braves in the Craig Kimbrel Trade with the San Diego Padres Easter Sunday before the start of the 2015 season.

Maybin was the 10th overall pick in the 2005 MLB Amateur Draft but had never really lived up to the hype in his eight years prior to joining his ‘hometown’ Atlanta Braves.  Though he is struggling at the plate at the moment, Maybin’s approach at the plate under Braves hitting coach Kevin Seitzer has proved wonderful.

More from ATL All Day

Cameron is hitting .271/.332/.383 for the Atlanta Braves this season.  He has already set a career high with 47 RBI’s and counting and could surpass his career high of 9 home runs with 2 more big flies.  For the most part of the season, Cameron Maybin has hit well in the two-hole for the Atlanta Braves, nearly making his first All-Star appearance despite not being on the 2015 Ballot.

The Atlanta Braves haven’t seen this type of productivity from a centerfielder since Michael Bourn patrolled center and even that was short-lived.  Maybin’s number 25 he wears reminds us of another great Atlanta Braves CF Andruw Jones.  While he’s not Andruw Jones, Cameron Maybin looks like a great fit in center field for the Atlanta Braves these next few seasons.
