5 – Al Horford

As evidenced last season, Mike Budenholzer is not afraid to go small. On many occasions — especially near the end of the 2015 campaign — experimented with a three guard lineup, playing Jeff Teague and Dennis Schroder alongside one another.

Having Teague and Schroder together on the court at the same time creates a two-headed snake for the Atlanta Hawks. Both guards are excellent penetrators, having the ability to get to the basket seemingly at will. If Schroder can develop his shot even more, it creates even more open shot opportunities for the Atlanta Hawks and essentially makes both Schroder and Teague interchangeable parts on the court.

At 6’6”, Kyle Korver has the ability to play the Small Forward position, but defensively it may not be the best matchup for the Atlanta Hawks with him at the 3. This lineup’s sole focus would be offense, having both Teague and Schroder along with Korver on the floor simultaneously.
