Atlanta Falcons: 5 Players to Benefit Most from Preseason

The Atlanta Falcons have their first preseason game tonight against the Tennessee Titans at the Georgia Dome.  This will be the first time Dan Quinn will roam the sidelines as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons.

There has been a lot of talk about the culture change happening up in Flowery Branch.  The Atlanta Falcons are shedding their weak perception in the eyes of the rest of the National Football League under Dan Quinn’s direction.  Coach Quinn aspires his Atlanta Falcons team to play as fast and as physical as possible.  That is a far cry from the complacent read and react nature of the later years of the Mike Smith Era in Atlanta.

For the Dirty Birds to get back to relevancy in 2015, the team has to improve with every practice and every preseason game during Training Camp.  With all but three coaches completely new to the Atlanta Falcons organization, even some of the most seasoned veterans on the team like QB Matt Ryan, WR Roddy White, and SS William Moore will have to lead by example and embrace the different coaching philosophy of the new regime.

Though I don’t expect Matty Ice, Rowdy Roddy, or Willy Mo getting a ton of reps in the Atlanta Falcons’ four preseason games, I do see these four exhibition games as crucial minutes for new starters or guys trying to make the 53-man roster.  Jobs are often won and lost in these preseason games if you can believe it.

Here are five guys I see with the most to gain by having a strong preseason with the Atlanta Falcons this fall.  All five have either a starting job or a roster spot to play for this summer.  So here we go…
