Release the hounds! The Georgia Bulldogs have arguably the deepest RB group in the Power 5 heading into 2015. Much of that has to do with sensational sophomore and pre-season Heisman Hopeful RB Nick Chubb.

Last year as a freshman, Chubb answered the call following Todd Gurley’s suspension and later season-ending ACL tear to have the best season a freshman running back has had since Herschel Walker rushed Between the Hedges in 1980. Chubb was the epitome of a workhorse, taking dozens of carries down the stretch out of necessity due to injuries in the tailback group.

Though I nearly included other talented UGA tailbacks in this ranking (Sony Michel and Keith Marshall), I see Nick Chubb as the featured back without hesitation. I know that Nick Chubb will perform when Mark Richt calls his number this fall.
Georgia has a difficult schedule to navigate: Alabama, @ Tennessee, Missouri, @ Auburn, and @ Georgia Tech. For the Georgia Bulldogs to win the SEC East, contend for a Conference Championship, and sniff a shot at the second annual College Football Playoff, Nick Chubb will have to carry the rock at an All-American level.
While I do believe that Nick Chubb will certainly have a strong sophomore season for the Dawgs, the best part about Chubb is that he will return in 2016 to try it again if he does come up short of these lofty expectations in 2015. Football Season is upon us! Only three weeks and a day until it’s Saturday in Athens. Forever, Go Dawgs!
