No shocker here! Now that Todd Gurley plays in the NFL for the St. Louis Rams, sensational sophomore tailback Nick Chubb is the undisputed best player on the Georgia Bulldogs football roster heading into the 2015 Regular Season.
The things that Nick Chubb did as a true freshman were out of this world. He rushed for 1,547 yards on 219 carries for 14 touchdowns, averaging an unbelievable 7.1 yards per carry. Chubb also had an additional 213 yards and 2 scores through the air on 18 receptions. Keep in mind that Chubb started the 2014 Season at number four on the UGA RB Depth Chart behind Gurley, Keith Marshall, and Sony Michel.

Once Nick Chubb had no choice but to take over in a UGA backfield that was down on its luck after the Gurley Autograph Suspension and serious injuries to both Marshall and Michel, the world was never the same. In the final eight games of the regular season, Nick Chubb rushed for at least 113 yards and a touchdown in each ball game. That 113 yard performance was against FBS Charleston Southern where Chubb ran that on just 9 carries!
Nick ran over 200 yards against both the Arkansas (202) and the Louisville Cardinals (262!) while scoring twice on rushes in both games. As a true freshman, Nick Chubb had the second best season for a first-year UGA tailback since Herschel Walker had back in 1980’s National Championship Season. Walker finished third for the Heisman Trophy that fall. Nick is certainly on the short list heading into 2015. Only 19 more days before it’s Saturday in Athens! Go Dawgs!
