1ST-BASE: Who else would be manning first-base for the Atlanta Braves? Freddie Freeman signed an 8-year, $135 million extension with the Braves in 2014, locking him up for the better part of the next decade. Currently the most dangerous offensive threat on the ball-club, Freeman has struggled with injuries this year, recently returning from an oblique strain.
For the year, Freeman has hit .285 with a team-leading 14 home-runs and 45 RBI’s. Though this has not been Freeman’s best offensive year, he has no protection in the Atlanta Braves batting order, making him chase pitches he normally wouldn’t and allowing pitchers to pitch around him. If the Braves can put some bats around him, Freeman is no doubt one of the best offensive players in the game.
