Atlanta Falcons: 5 Players to Watch Versus the Jets
By John Buhler
The Atlanta Falcons are entering their Preseason Week 2 against the New York Jets after an overall strong performance against the Tennessee Titans in Week 1.
With one preseason game in the books, the Atlanta Falcons coaching staff begins to decide as to whom will make the 53-man roster. After about 40 obvious choices, the final 13 spots are very much up in the air. Competition and ultimately in-game performance in the final three preseason games will decide who gets to tee it up at the Georgia Dome on Sundays as a member of the 2015 Atlanta Falcons.

In the 31-24 victory over the Titans on Friday night, we saw some promising moments in the new Dan Quinn Era of the Atlanta Falcons as well as some areas where the Dirty Birds need to improve in. While we should expect stars like QB Matt Ryan and WR Julio Jones to play more in tomorrow night’s game, the second preseason game is very much about solidifying depth and assembling starting units.

I feel that in the first road game of the preseason, we will find out more about what this new-look Atlanta Falcons team’s strengths and weaknesses are. While the passing attack was solid throughout, the running at times was non-existent. Defensively the front seven played a great game against a solid offensive line in Tennessee, but the secondary reserves definitely need to improve going forward.
Entering Week 2 of the preseason, I’m looking at how the Atlanta Falcons’ offense performs against a stout New York Jets’ defense as well as how the front seven gets after the quarterback while keeping the ground-and-pound running game to a minimum. Here are five Atlanta Falcons to keep an eye on in Preseason Week 2 against the New York Jets.
