Tevin Coleman. 26. player. 44. . RB. Indiana

After suffering a hamstring injury late in Training Camp, it seems that rookie RB Tevin Coleman will make his NFL debut when he suits up for the Atlanta Falcons Saturday night down in South Beach.  Coleman joined the Atlanta Falcons as 3rd Round Pick in this spring’s NFL Draft.  After an All-American Senior Season with the Indiana Hoosiers, I cannot wait to see what Coleman can bring to the Falcons’ rushing attack.

I’ve loved Coleman’s work ethic and competitiveness since he first commanded my attention in last year’s road upset for the Hoosiers at Mizzou.  When a football player from a traditional basketball power house like Indiana forces you to pay attention to his game, you know that you have a special player on your hands.

Atlanta needs all the help they can get at tailback after three consecutive down years in the backfield.  I’m not expecting the dynamic duo of Tevin Coleman and Devonta Freeman to become the next Dunn-Duckett backfield, but Falcons fans are hoping that a lack of production from the running backs is a thing of the past.

In my opinion, if there’s one thing to watch from the Atlanta Falcons perspective when they take on the Miami Dolphins tomorrow is that it will be the NFL Debut of RB Tevin Coleman.  He can have a great or bad game for the Dirty Birds and it won’t matter to me, just as long as he stays healthy and is ready to roll Week 1 when Philadelphia comes to town for Monday Night Football.
