Lorenzo Carter was the best in-state signing of the 2014 Recruiting Class for the Georgia Bulldogs.  Carter was a standout in Gwinnett County for the Norcross Blue Devils, terrorizing prep schools quarterbacks with his ferocious pass rush.

In his first season in Athens last year, Lorenzo forced his way into a deep LB rotation, often lining up at OLB or even up on the defensive line in somewhat of a LEO role.  Carter earned Preseason All-SEC 3rd Team Honors as an outside linebacker, despite not being a returning starter.

Carter’s talent is immense and it serves DC Jeremy Pruitt and OLB Coach Kevin Sherrer to get Lorenzo on the field as much as possible.  Even if he doesn’t start at OLB right out of the gate, I’m interested to see all the different defensive packages that will feature Lorenzo Carter this season.

I envision Carter getting at least one quarterback sack on the ULM quarterback, possibly a couple of tackles for a loss of yardage, and maybe a forced fumble coming from the outside.  Regardless of how much action Lorenzo Carter will get in the first game of the year for the Georgia Bulldogs, expect him to play looser this year, knowing that he will certainly see more time on the gridiron as an All-SEC caliber player as a sophomore.  Potentially, he could grow into an All-American with at least two more years playing Between the Hedges for the Dawgs.
