The Georgia Bulldogs landed the best in-state product and a Top 5 overall player in the 2015 High School Class in DT Trent Thompson. Big Trent hails from Albany and wanted to help build a defensive program at UGA, playing for former 1988 Consensus All-American Tracy Rocker on the defensive line.
Thompson may not start right away at nose tackle for the Dawgs, but is certainly in the defensive line rotation that Rocker plans to deploy on Fall Saturdays. Trent is a rare physical specimen of both size and agility on the inside, often drawing comparisons to NFL Hall of Famer DT Warren Sapp.

If Trent Thompson is anything like Sapp was at the U, watch out, SEC quarterbacks! Thompson is the first major piece in the overhaul of the UGA defensive line. Georgia has gotten most of its productivity on defense the last few seasons from their linebackers in the 3-4 Base. UGA is in the process of creating the most formidable front seven in the Southeastern Conference.
Look for Trent Thompson to make his UGA debut tomorrow Between the Hedges. Maybe he makes the first of many plays that get us all out of our seats from wherever we are watching the Dawgs play. Noon Tomorrow. That is all. Go Dawgs!
