Georgia Bulldogs To Tee It Up Between The Hedges Vs. ULM

The Georgia Bulldogs welcome the ULM Warhawks to Sanford Stadium for the first game of the 2015 Season.

Good morning, Dawg Nation.  It is the day we’ve all been waiting for.  It’s time for the Dawgs to tee it up Between the Hedges for the first time in 2015, as your Georgia Bulldogs take on the ULM Warhawks in the season opener at Sanford Stadium.  Only 5 hours until kickoff!

Georgia enters 2015 with the usually high expectations.  Head Coach Mark Richt will lead the #9 ranked Georgia Bulldogs to hopefully a 1-0 start this season with a convincing victory over Louisiana-Monroe this afternoon.

    • At SEC Media Days earlier this summer, the Georgia Bulldogs were the media’s pick to come out of the SEC East this year and play for an SEC Championship.  That sounds great to me, as that’s the first step in reaching hopefully bigger ball games down the road.

    Our Georgia Bulldogs will for the first time this season get the chance to showcase its dynamic rushing attack, as well as its ferocious pass rush.  Tailbacks like Heisman hopeful Nick Chubb and lightning in a bottle Sony Michel have a superb offensive line in front of the them that is returning four of five starters.  The pass rushing law firm of Jenkins, Floyd, Carter, and Bellamy will bring opposing quarterbacks to the ground with swift justice.

    Even with the Dawgs’ opening opponent not in the Power 5, this should make for an exciting game.  Not just because it’s the season opener, but we will finally get to see many of the underclassmen we’ve heard so much about.  Will NT Trent Thompson make a great play for us a defensive tackle?  Will DB Rico McGraw take an errant pass back for a score?  Will WR Terry Godwin get 30 yards after his first catch?

    We will also have a new starting quarterback leading us Between the Hedges as UVA transfer Junior Greyson Lambert won the gig over Faton Bauta and Brice Ramsey earlier this week.  Even though Lambert is the starter, expect all three scholarship quarterbacks to play in the season opener should the score start to heavily favor the Georgia Bulldogs.

    Compared to last year’s high stakes home opener against Clemson, I actually enjoy entering 2015 against an FBS team Georgia should beat handedly.  Then again, ULM does have a history of upsetting SEC schools, clipping Alabama in 2007 and embarrassing Arkansas in 2012 which completely derailed their season.

    Just remember one thing, Dawg Nation: it isn’t officially kickoff until The Who’s “Baba O’Riley” blasts defiantly through the Greatest Football Stadium on Planet Earth.  Over 92,000 of your closest friends will go bonkers when the clock strikes zero and Pete Townshend’s synthesizers take over the crowd yet again.  For those who can’t make it to Athens for Game Day, tune into the SEC Network to watch your Georgia Bulldogs begin their 2015 Campaign.  Forever, Go Dawgs!
