Aaron Davis forced the lone interception against the ULM Warhawks last Saturday. The former walk-on from Locust Grove did not play high school football as an upperclassmen due to a myriad of injuries. Now that he’s earned a scholarship for the Georgia Bulldogs, don’t expect the RS Sophomore CB to take his foot off the gas any time soon.
Vandy is still very much a work in progress in the passing game. Sure, they have a handful of pretty good offensive players like QB Johnny McCrary, TE Steven Scheu, and RB Ralph Webb, but expect Davis and company in the secondary to ballhawk against Vanderbilt on Saturday, possibly picking off a pair of errant passes.
Should UGA have at least two interceptions on defense, I’d like to believe that Aaron Davis will have one of the two picks, because of his strong press coverage skills and his ballhawking ability. I think that Davis will play inspired up on the line in tackling his fellow DB Malkom Parrish did against ULM last week.
Look for Aaron Davis to have three tackles, one pass breakup, and an interception return for around 25 yards in the Georgia Bulldogs’ SEC opener against the Vanderbilt Commodores. If Davis keeps this up, he could go from walk-on to shut down corner for the Georgia Bulldogs in just three years. I’m very much looking forward to seeing his continued development playing for DC Jeremy Pruitt.
