Jeb Blazevich had only one reception in the home opener last week, but it was a big one for the Georgia Bulldogs: a nice touchdown strike for 15 yards, rocketing from QB Greyson Lambert’s arm. UGA chose to run the football 73% of the time last weekend, but still looked good through the air, converting 10-14 passing between Lambert and backup QB Brice Ramsey.
Though I expect for OC Brian Schottenheimer to run more than pass against Vanderbilt, I think that Schotty will open up the playbook a little more for Greyson Lambert in his 2nd UGA start. That means primary pass catchers like Jeb Blazevich should reap the benefits of more aggressive play calling.

While it is possible that running backs like Nick Chubb, Keith Marshall, and Sony Michel could break 20+ yard touchdown runs, I see Jeb Blazevich as the primary receiving target for the Georgia Bulldogs in the red zone. Should UGA get into the red zone at least three times tomorrow, expect Jeb to reel in at least one touchdown reception.
Outside of the red zone, look for Jeb Blazevich to factor in third down possession receiving as well. He has become the focal point at tight end for the Dawgs already. With every touchdown reception or third down conversion, Blaze will force his way into the SEC’s best of TEs in 2015.
