Though he is fourth on the UGA RB depth chart, discounting Junior RB Brendan Douglas is a grave mistake for the opposition to make.  Part of what makes UGA so lethal at tailback is that the team can move the chains on the ground convincingly while Nick Chubb isn’t on the field.

Last week, all four UGA running backs averaged at least 5.7 yards per carry.  Though Brendan Douglas rushed for only 17 yards on 3 carries on Saturday, expect him to get more carries in Week 2 versus the Vanderbilt Commodores.

What I’ve loved about Brendan Douglas’ game in his first two seasons with the Georgia Bulldogs is that he runs bigger than his body.  His powerful drives up the middle and surprising shiftiness would make him a starter on many teams in the Power 5 had he not Committed to the G in 2013.  At 5’11”, 215 lbs., the Augusta Hammerhead is always ready to deliver a knockout punch to the opposing team’s linebackers in crunch time.

In tomorrow’s game versus VU, I’d like to think that Brendan Douglas gets 8 carries for 45 yards and a touchdown done run to put the game out of reach for the Vanderbilt Commodores.  It’ll be like last year’s game against Mizzou for Douglas, proving that UGA’s depth at RB is not met by anybody in 2015.
