Both teams both had to endure a 2 hour and 20 minute rain delay before the match could commence, making tonight’s game a long affair.

Former Braves Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson, acquired by the Mets from the Braves on July 24th, made their former club pay on Thursday. The Mets got out to a 1-0 lead after catcher Kevin Plawecki drove home both Uribe and Johnson, following two hits to leadoff the inning, giving the Metropolitans a 2-0 lead. Then in a cruel twist, pitcher Bartolo Colon helped himself out with an RBI single to drive home Plawecki, making the score 3-0 in the bottom of the 4th inning. Colon’s single was his career high 8th hit of the year.
