Unless you are the parents of Sugar Ray Marimon or some other marginal player, there has not been much to look forward to every night. After whichever overly cliché and cringeworthily lame closing line Joe Buck chooses to employ at the end of the Fall Classic, free agency starts. It is a chance for Braves fans to once again dream of better days. This article will look at a few free agents I think the Braves should consider, and if one of the Johns at the helm of the Braves’ organization happens upon this article, it could even give them the answers they’ve been looking for (I take my checks made out to cash).
The Atlanta Braves will be on the hook for about $80 million in contracts at the end of the season. This leaves them with some room to spend if they so choose. If I were John Hart, I would not be shy in spending some this offseason, even if it’s just for two big names. You don’t want to be just like the Marlins heading into their new stadium and hope the team you compiled in the last two months will be good. 2016 is the year to begin putting pieces in place.
