One could argue that the Atlanta Falcons’ signing of DL Adrian Clayborn in free agency might turn out as the greatest value move this offseason.  Clayborn has tremendous talent but has missed significant time in his first four seasons in the NFL.

In the preseason, Adrian Clayborn was a pass rushing force for the Atlanta Falcons.  He often played the role of DT in the Nickel Package and could disrupt the opposing quarterback from both the inside and out.  We’re talking about a guy that has versatility as a pass rusher on a team that couldn’t touch the quarterback last year.  Should Adrian Clayborn stay healthy in 2015, he could have close to 10 sacks for the Dirty Birds.

Having that inherent versatility on the defensive line should help the Atlanta Falcons deal with Chip Kelly’s read option play calling, whether Bradford hands the ball off to Murray of looks to complete a pass to one of the Eagles’ tight ends.  He won’t play every snap, but look for Adrian Clayborn disrupt Bradford when the Eagles play in 3-wide receiver sets on Monday Night.

I’m intrigued at the developing chemistry on the defensive side of the ball between Clayborn and Vic Beasley.  They’ve shown that they can get each in great position to make plays in the opposing backfield.  I think Adrian Clayborn records his first sack as an Atlanta Falcon on Monday Night Football on a third and long situation for the Philadelphia Eagles.
