The Georgia Bulldogs enter their Week 3 rivalry game with the South Carolina Gamecocks as the #7 team in the nation.  While Georgia should knock off USC at home, nothing would make the Head Ball Coach happier than upsetting Mark Richt’s Georgia Bulldogs and foiling UGA CFP aspirations.

While Georgia did beat an SEC East foe on the road by 17 points, the Dawgs don’t need to beat their chest with pride as the #7 team in College Football.  South Carolina has won 4 of the last 5 meetings in this Border War and UGA must protect its house.

Defensively, this UGA team looks as good as anybody in College Football.  The pass rush and run defense dominate the line of scrimmage.  There are many ballhawks in the UGA secondary, as DC Jeremy Pruitt is coaching up the unit to become great in 2015.

Offensively, while the Dawgs can run the football better than just about anybody, the passing game is still very much a work in progress for QB Greyson Lambert and OC Brian Schottenheimer.  Both men benefit from star running backs like Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, but UGA needs to establish a more balanced offense should the Georgia Bulldogs want to contend for the Second Annual College Football Playoff.

With USC QB Connor Mitch out for a month and this being a night game at Sanford, I like UGA in this game to play with poise and knock off a major rival at home in the South Carolina Gamecocks.  If Georgia continues to pound the rock and win the turnover differential, they could be one of the toughest teams to beat in the SEC.  Saturday’s game versus South Carolina will air at 6PM ET on ESPN.  Go Dawgs!
