The Atlanta Falcons did enough to beat the Philadelphia Eagles at home on Monday Night Football, winning 26-24. The pass rush and running game are no longer mythical creatures living in Narnia, they are part of the Atlanta Falcons team in 2015.
Atlanta still has an elite passing game and one of the best special teams units in football. They benefit from the easiest schedule in football. I feel this is a team that will feed off momentum and could string together a winning streak that could last over a month this season.
While the offensive line and inexperience on the defensive side do need work, I see the Atlanta Falcons still as the team to beat in the NFC South entering Week 2. They may not have the depth to win a Playoff game, but will contend for the South all season.
The Cowboys won a nail biter in Jerry World, beating division rival New York by a single point. Even without DeMarco Murray to hand the ball off to, Tony Romo and the Cowboys offense will be just fine because they have the best offensive line in football.
I like their kicker Dan Bailey to make the clutch kicks and the Boys ability to win in hostile environments. Dallas is a very strong choice for a team to come out of the NFC because they control the line of scrimmage on offensive better than anybody.
Winning a tough division game when you aren’t at your best is a sign of a champion. I didn’t think Dallas played their best football on Sunday Night, but when they do, they’ll be one of the best in the NFL for sure.

Seattle drops to number two in this power rankings because they lost their home opener to the St. Louis Rams. Not that St. Louis is a bad team, I have them sixth in this edition, but Seattle needs to take the next step offensively in 2015, after losing DC Dan Quinn to the Atlanta Falcons HC gig.
Russell Wilson will have more asked from him in Year 4, but will he be able to do more than be the best game manager in recent football history? Nick Foles outplayed him in Week 1. With the target on their back in the NFC, Seattle needs to become a more well-rounded team in 2015 should they want to play in another Super Bowl.
I loved the trade for them to get TE Jimmy Graham. They still have Beast Mode, Marshawn Lynch at tailback. And their defense is arguably the best in football. Seattle is still a world-beater, but need to bounce back with a strong performance against the Packers in Week 2. Otherwise, the NFC Champs will start 2015 down 0-2.
When you have the best player in football, you have a great shot at being the best team. Nobody is better than Aaron Rodgers in 2015. Even without WR Jordy Nelson for the season, Rodgers will still win games with whomever he has at receiver. Against the Bears, he got reacquainted with James Jones.
Balance it was I think sets the Green Bay Packers apart from the rest of the NFC. If the defense can continue to improve, they will remain my pick to win Super Bowl 50. A cold weather team that travels well, runs the football, and has the best passer in the game, that’s hard to argue against.
Their game against Seattle will decide who the top dog is entering Week 3, but for now, I think that Green Bay looked the best of any team in the NFC after the first week on the 2015 NFL Season.
