Expect OLB Lorenzo Carter to play an inspired game after an embarrassing ejection early in the first half against Vanderbilt. UGA again received a targeting penalty in last week’s game against VU. Carter had to exit the game with his helmet-to-helmet tackle in the backfield.

Fortunately for the Georgia Bulldogs, since that penalty occurred in the first half of the UGA-Vandy Game, Lorenzo Carter will not have to sit out against the South Carolina Gamecocks. He will be able to play for the Dawgs on their first defensive possession.
The raw talent with Carter is there, but he may need to become a more cerebral player for the Dawgs to tap into his full potential with the Red and Black. I hope that the dumb hit on Vanderbilt served as a valuable lesson for the true sophomore and he comes back with a vengeance against USC.
With the Gamecocks starting Perry Orth at quarterback, I feel that Lorenzo Carter will have 1.5 sacks on Saturday and 2.5 tackles for a loss of yardage. He will also set up a teammate to make a play on special teams. Though he may not block a kick or a punt, he will impact the crucial 3rd phase of the game as well.
