Dominick Sanders is the Leader of the DBs
Dominick Sanders had his second interception of 2015 last night. Sanders leads the defense with his second pick in three games. UGA has been mighty impressive in their ballhawking abilities with five interceptions in three games.
Even though he is only a true sophomore, Dominick Sanders has elevated his play to the leader of the Georgia Bulldogs in the defensive backfield. That role was vacant after CB Damian Swann’s graduation and NFL draft selection by the New Orleans Saints back in early May.

Sanders was the first recruit to specifically play in the Jeremy Pruitt secondary. I love his composure to make consistent plays on the ball. Nothing changes momentum faster in a football game than an interception. Dominick Sanders seems to have a knack for it that I haven’t seen in the UGA secondary since Bacarri Rambo starred there a few years back.
We knew that the pass rush and linebacker play for the Georgia Bulldogs would be a focal point of this defense. The defensive line has looked like a strength as well and the secondary is reaping the benefits of the front seven’s ability to force opposing QB’s to make errant throws. Sanders is leading by example on the field with his play at strong safety for the Dawgs so far in 2015.
