Sony Michel Can Do It All For Georgia

Sony Michel might be the most versatile player on the 2015 Georgia Bulldogs. It’s not what can he do, it’s where to best feature him. Michel had 83 all-purpose yards and 3 touchdowns against the South Carolina Gamecocks. Whether it was a pass or a run, Sony Michel was the difference maker for the Georgia Bulldogs in this rivalry game.

Of the 11 times he touched the football on Saturday, thrice he made it into the end zone for UGA. Having a running back that can receive catches well out of the backfield adds another wrinkle into what OC Brian Schottenheimer can do offensively with the Georgia Bulldogs.

It’s no longer if Sony Michel is on the field that opposing defenses will have to worry about, it’s where is he lining up that proves the most scary part of his game. His play is reminiscent to Southern Cal’s Reggie Bush from a decade ago, a tailback that is better classified as an offensive playmaker.

What we learned in whole about the Georgia Bulldogs in this game is that UGA will be a very tough team to beat at home this year. With the running game as strong as advertised, a defensive unit that is looking more like a Top 5 group in the country every week, and QB Greyson Lambert coming into his own on Saturday, I wouldn’t want to play UGA in Athens this year. Go Dawgs!
