Chris Mayes is a huge reason why the Georgia Bulldogs’ front seven has looked so ferocious in the first three weeks. Mayes and DE Sterling Bailey are competing like mad men for DL Coach Tracy Rocker and UGA is better defensively from their persistent efforts up front.

Mayes will have a great game against the Jaguars on Saturday both against the pass and stopping the run. He will have a tackle for a loss, possibly a sack. But most importantly, he will certainly command a double team from the interior offensive line, opening up more holes for the vaunted UGA pass rush to strike through.
I get the feeling that Chris Mayes will be in the middle of everything on Saturday. That isn’t easy to say for a nose tackle, but look for him to dictate the Jaguars’ offensive tempo in Week 4. This game is crucial for Mayes as it is a tune-up for Alabama next week.
