Atlanta Falcons: 5 Players to Watch Vs. Dallas
By John Buhler
Last year, Justin Durant was a member of the Dallas Cowboys. He was beginning to look strong and nearly breaking the starting lineup before a season-ending injury derailed what could have been a strong season for the OLB.
The Atlanta Falcons understood the risk of signing an often injured player like Durant when the organization acquired him during free agency this offseason. Atlanta needed to massively overhaul the linebacker corps to meet new HC Dan Quinn’s standards running the team in Flowery Branch.

Through the preseason, Durant has looked great at ROLB for the Atlanta Falcons. His interception return against the Tennessee Titans in Week 1 of the preseason signified that changes were on the way in the Atlanta Falcons’ defense. No longer would we see a soft unit on that side of the ball in Atlanta.
I like Durant to play with passion in Week 3, to tell the Dallas Cowboys organization that they made a mistake in letting him walk this offseason. While it may have had more to do with the return of Sean Lee to the LB group than anything, look for Durant to try his best to bring down every player that touches the ball in the first two levels of the defense on Sunday.
