The Offensive Line is as Strong as Ever

The offensive line has only allowed two quarterback sacks on starter Greyson Lambert this season. Georgia’s rushing attack can strike for a big play on every handoff. After a bit of feeling it out, the new starting five up front for the Georgia Bulldogs are as good as advertised.

When LG Isaiah Wynn elevated his play against South Carolina in Week 3, I knew that it was just a matter of time before the unit developed the continuity needed to make a playoff push. The right side of RG Greg Pyke and RT Kolton Houston have been nearly flawless in their execution this season.

Where OL Coach Rob Sale had work to do was to help solidify the center and left guard position. Brandon Kublanow and Isaiah Wynn seem to have settled into their new roles, which has allowed 1st Team All-SEC LT John Theus to play at an elite level as the group’s undisputed leader up front.

When you have an offensive line that can pass protect as well as they can run block, that makes for a group that can succeed on every down. While it does help that Nick Chubb, Greyson Lambert, and Sony Michel are all playing out of their minds in 2015, we have to give a lot of credit to the improved continuity of the Georgia Bulldogs’ offensive line. They’re going to need it versus Alabama next week.
