OFFENSE IS SPUTTERING
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets offense fell flat for the second straight week against Duke, as the Blue Devil defense and namely safety Jeremy Cash had a heyday against the Jackets. The offense is out of sync right now, as they were not able to rely on the play of their running back corps on Saturday.
The Duke defense took away the dive play from Tech, which limited the Jackets to having only two rushers to gain more than 50 yards on the ground — B-back Patrick Skov and QB Justin Thomas. Skov’s strength was one of the few bright spots on Saturday, but he was still unable to score.
QB Justin Thomas rushed for 58 yards and touchdown, but for the triple option to work effectively, all the personnel must be involved. The offense has not been dynamic since Tech played Tulane 2 weeks ago, and needs to find a way to reclaim their potency going into next week’s game against North Carolina at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
