PAUL JOHNSON HAS SOME WORK TO DO
Offense has never been issue for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets during Paul Johnson’s tenure as Head Coach. Even though every team knows what is coming at them, they have never been really able to stop the triple option — that is until the past two games of this season.
Notre Dame and Duke were prepared for the triple option, and executed their gameplan perfectly. Now faced with the harsh reality that teams have adapted to his offensive scheme, what does Paul Johnson do?
The offensive line needs work, and so do special teams, but everything Georgia Tech does is predicted on the flawless execution of the triple-option on offense. Paul Johnson needs to find a way to make the offense more dynamic and to counter his opponent’s preparation. As of now, the offense is ill equipped to win close games. The triple option has worked for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in years past, but in 2015, is it finally time for Tech to make some changes to adapt to the modern game?
