Wasn’t Maty Mauk one of the three most seasoned passers entering 2015 in the SEC? Then why can’t the Missouri Tigers put up points against a Division I team? In the last two weeks, Mizzou has combined to score 22 points in their games with UConn and Kentucky.
The offense clearly needs RB Russell Hansbrough to get the ball in the end zone. When Mizzou is only able to average 11 PPG against two historically strong basketball programs on the gridiron, then something is clearly wrong with the Tigers on the offensive side of the ball.
Sure, HC Gary Pinkel knows how to coach up his defense. Mizzou always has great NFL talent on that side of the ball. But losing in Lexington does not bode well for the Tigers when they have to play teams like the Georgia Bulldogs and the Mississippi State Bulldogs further down the road.
Fortunately for Mizzou, their schedule is still very navigable outside of those two games. Mizzou gets an opportunity to redeem itself after a tough loss to the Kentucky Wildcats when the Tigers take on the Gamecocks in the Battle of Columbia. Kickoff of that emerging rivalry airs on the SEC Network at Noon.

That picture says it all. There was no way Tennessee should have lost that game to Florida. UT has now lost 11 straight to the Gators. The honeymoon period for HC Butch Jones is over in Knoxville. Since the athletic department of the University of Tennessee let HC Philip Fulmer go in 2008, the Volunteers are a combined 1-21 versus Alabama, Florida and Georgia. Talk about not getting it done against your three biggest football rivals.
Nobody is buying the Volunteers as an up and coming team anymore in 2015. This team cannot finish games. It’s a shame because the QB/RB duo of Joshua Dobbs and Jalen Hurd is spectacular to watch. When is Tennessee going to get that signature victory for Butch Jones? Is it ever going to happen?
UT looks to rebound against another SEC team down on its luck in 1-3 Arkansas. Whoever loses this game is in terrible shape for the rest of their Conference schedule. I don’t know what sounds worse: a 2-3 (0-2) Tennessee Volunteers team or a 1-4 (0-2) Arkansas Razorbacks team?
In a battle of whose seat is hotter between Butch Jones and Bret Bielema, look for one team to gain composure and strive for bowl eligibility. The loser could find themselves looking for a new head coach this winter. Tennessee will host Arkansas at 7:00 PM ET at Neyland Stadium. The hapless SEC game will air on ESPN2.
