Alabama will want to beat the UGA defense between the hash marks on Saturday. Unfortunately for them, they’ve got a very angry Jake Ganus who thrives between the hash marks.

The University of Alabama school system was responsible for shutting down the UAB Blazers football program last year. Don’t think that the Alabama native ILB doesn’t realize that. In the biggest stage of his life, I think Jake Ganus has the game of his life on Saturday.
It wouldn’t shock me to see Ganus have a dozen tackles, playing with more heart than anyone on the gridiron. He’s a tackling machine to begin with on the inside anyway. Should UGA have their backs against the wall, he and Senior Leader OLB Jordan Jenkins will elevate the Georgia Bulldogs defense should they need to get a stop on that side of the ball.
I’ve said it since he joined the program that Jake Ganus is playing for two schools this season: the University of Georgia and the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Ganus will play with a chip on his shoulder like Jordan Jenkins did against Vanderbilt for similar reasons: this game is personal.
