DT, Australia

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets co-captain Adam Gotsis was ejected in the first half of last week’s game against North Carolina for allegedly targeting Tar Heels QB Marquise Williams. Once the senior DT departed from the contest, the whole complexion of the game changed. North Carolina went on to overcome a 21-0 deficit and eventually put Georgia Tech in an 0-2 whole in the ACC.

Gotsis’s exit from last week’s game showed his importance on a team that does not possess defensive prowess. His absence thinned the defensive line, giving Marquise Williams more time to throw the ball and Elijah Hood better lanes to run. Against a star QB like DeShaun Watson this week, Gotsis must use his leadership to bring forth a great defensive effort from the Jackets.
