NFL: Around The Perimeter, Eps. 13

Good Morning, Atlanta! You are listening to the thirteenth episode of Around the Perimeter, our weekly podcast where we discuss anything and everything Atlanta sports.

In part one of our thirteenth episode, Editor Jonathan Savitske and Weekly Contributor Nathan Carl Johnson try to make sense of the three-game skid with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Jonathan looks at how the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Duke Blue Devils, and the North Carolina Tar Heels have shut down the triple option. Tech absolutely has to win on the road against the #6 Clemson Tigers to have any chance at playing in a meaningful bowl game this holiday season.

Jonathan and Carl reflect on the 2015 Atlanta Braves season, looking back on a down year for the Braves. Both Jonathan and Carl feel that they saw some positive signs from the team down the stretch, particularly with their pitching staff. Hopefully good things are on the horizon with this team in 2016 with newly promoted GM John Coppolella running the show during the team’s final season at Turner Field.

To close out the first part of the program, Jonathan and Carl make their picks in this week’s slate of games in the NFL. Find out who they like in Week 5 in part one of the thirteenth episode of Around the Perimeter, here at ATLAllDay.com

In part two of the program, I am joined by returning guest Ian Poole to dissect the first quarter of the NFL season. Every team gets some love in this episode. If you like kickers, you’ll enjoy this segment. There are a few teams we really like and a select few that are lukewarm through the first quarter of the season.

Ian and I make sense of the Atlanta Falcons’ 4-0 start and how the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should be 2-2 entering their date with the Jacksonville Jaguars. We then predict our new AFC/NFC Championship Games and our new favorites to play in Super Bowl 50.

Please leave your comments here on ATL All Day if you want us to discuss anything in particular in next week’s episode, just as we discussed the Georgia Bulldogs during this podcast.  You can also tweet or send us a Direct Message to our ATL All Day Twitter account –@atlbeatblog with your questions for next week’s show.
