Atlanta Falcons: 5 Players to Watch vs. Washington
By John Buhler
Leonard Hankerson was a former 3rd round pick by the Washington Redskins out of Miami. He’s shown great versatility as a pass catcher in his NFL career, but has had difficulty staying on the field due to a myriad of injuries.

I think this is a statement game for Hank. There’s a great chance that he leads the Atlanta Falcons in receiving yards on Sunday. I like him to get in the end zone at least once and have over 100 receiving yards.
It makes sense for Atlanta Falcons OC Kyle Shanahan to attack the Redskins aerially by completing passes in the slot to Hankerson. I think it might actually make more sense in some situations to put Hank outside and have Roddy White play possession receiver between the hash marks on Sunday.
The Falcons have a versatile receiving corps. Leonard Hankerson’s emergence as a second option for QB Matt Ryan gives the Falcons passing game more flight than we initially thought. Look for Hank to continue to thrive in Shanahan’s offense. This game is personal for Hankerson.
