Davin Bellamy Had His Breakout Game
I’ve been a big fan of Davin Bellamy’s since he Committed to the G in 2013. The RS Sophomore from Chamblee is getting his first big opportunity with the Dawgs in 2015 and he’s starting to make the most of it.

He was a major reason that Leonard Floyd had that 95 yard scoop in score against Rocky Top in the 1st Quarter. I saw Davin bat down a pass and have 9 tackles (6 unassisted) on Saturday. His elevated play makes me feel immensely confident about the OLBs when Leonard Floyd and Jordan Jenkins move on to the NFL this spring.
Bellamy proved to me in this game that he’s ready to start alongside fellow OLB Lorenzo Carter next year in Pruitt’s 3-4 defense. Davin is learning from his teammates and is becoming a versatile pass rushing force in the front seven for the Dawgs in his third year with the program.
Many will try to extract only the negative from this game, but the improved play of RS Sophomore OLB Davin Bellamy was one of the best things I saw from the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday. I’m eager to see all the good he can do for the Red and Black in the next two plus years playing Between the Hedges.
