Devonta Freeman Could Be an All-Pro
Devonta Freeman had another strong rushing performance for the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5. He was again the focal point of the offense, with 27 carries for 153 yards and a great, late 4th Quarter touchdown. Freeman had another 7 receptions for 44 yards in this week’s victory.
On the year, Devonta Freeman has 93 carries for 405 yards and 8 touchdowns. Through the air, he has another 30 receptions for 225 yards and a touchdown. We knew that he was an explosive player for the 2013 National Champion Florida State Seminoles, but who would have thought that Devonta Freeman is an All-Pro candidate through the first five weeks of the 2015 NFL Season?

The guy loves contact and always fights for the extra yard. His shiftiness and ability to explode out of a cut makes him a dangerous running back. He can run both north and south, as well as east and west in OC Kyle Shanahan’s offense.
Where I think Freeman sets himself apart from the rest of the NFL’s running backs in 2015 is how he drives through defenders on contact for his size, as well as his great hands out of the backfield. Is it weird for me to make comparisons to Marshall Faulk already? Is Devonta Freeman the next LaDainian Tomlinson? Whatever he is, he is a big reason for the Atlanta Falcons’ 5-0 start.
