TWO TOP FRONTCOURTS BATTLE

The Atlanta Hawks sought to bolster their depth and rebounding ability of their frontcourt this offseason by trading for former San Antonio Spurs center Tiago Splitter. Wednesday will mark the first time that Splitter will face his former team, who solidified their own frontcourt by adding All-Star PF LaMarcus Aldridge.

Both the Atlanta Hawks and the San Antonio Spurs possess two of the top frontcourts in the NBA. The Spurs are anchored up front by future Hall of Famer Tim Duncan and the aforementioned Aldridge, while the Atlanta Hawks will counter with two All-Stars of their own: Al Horford and Paul Millsap.

Given the amount of playing time Mike Budenholzer has afforded his starters thus far in the preseason, would should see a good dose of Horford, Millsap and Splitter all playing together against San Antonio. The pairing of Duncan and Aldridge will provide a good indicator of how the frontcourt will play against top squad this season.
