The Atlanta Falcons will travel to the Big Easy to take on their arch nemesis in the New Orleans Saints on Thursday Night Football on CBS/NFL Network in Week 6.

This game is personal, as it is the annual road game in the city the Atlanta Falcons feel the least welcome, New Orleans, Louisiana. These Southeastern foes have a bitter 48-year history, meeting 92 times with the Atlanta Falcons holding a 49-43 lead in the series. This is first of two biennial games for this hostile rivalry.

Atlanta enters Week 6 undefeated at 5-0. New Orleans is holding on for dear life at 1-4. However, records do not matter rivalries with this kind of animosity, as indicated by the slight 3-point spread favoring the Atlanta Falcons.

More from ATL All Day

Atlanta may have swept the Saints in 2014, but don’t think for a second that new Atlanta Falcons HC Dan Quinn isn’t fired up to play his new team’s biggest rival on Thursday Night Football. Saints QB Drew Brees and HC Sean Payton have played the Atlanta Falcons loads of times. Despite sitting at opposite ends of the NFC standings, expect this game to stay close into the final minutes.

Because this is a rivalry game, I’m not going to lie. I’m pretty nervous about this one. For the Atlanta Falcons to move on to 6-0, these five players are going to need to step up for the Dirty Birds or else Who Dat Nation gives us our first blemish of 2015.
