THE GEORGIA BULLDOGS MISS NICK CHUBB

We all knew that the loss of Nick Chubb was a huge blow to the Georgia Bulldogs, but fans were confident that Sony Michel was capable enough to hold down the position for the rest of the year and become Georgia’s first option at running back. Michel finished with 86 yards on 27 carries, but averaged only 3.3 yards per carry.

Granted, Missouri has one of the better defenses in the country, but one still has to wonder if Sony Michel is capable of being the every down back for the Georgia Bulldogs. Offensive Coordinator Brian Schottenheimer did use a semblance of a platoon on Saturday, utilizing Michel with Brendan Douglas and Keith Marshall, who each finished with 24 yards a piece.

My colleague, Staff Writer Adam Greene, believes that with Nick Chubb gone for the year, Brendan Douglas is one of the better options at RB going forward. His physicality is a great asset, and provides a change of pace from Sony Michel. Mark Richt has some decisions to make going forward, especially when preparing for a big game against Florida in two weeks.
