PREDICTIONS
Given the current landscape in the Eastern Conference, and the additions the team has made this offseason, I predict that the Atlanta Hawks will finish with a 54-28 record and will secure the second seed in the Eastern Conference, repeating as Southeast Division Champions (for whatever that’s worth). Though I don’t believe the team will eclipse the 60-win mark as they did a year ago, I don’t buy into the notion that they will suffer following the loss of DeMarre Carroll.
If anything, I believe the Atlanta Hawks are a better team this season and are more prepared for a deep playoff run with the additions of Tiago Splitter, Tim Hardaway and Justin Holiday. Dennis Schroder will continue to develop into one of the best young point guards in the game, and Jeff Teague will continue to elevate his game and will lead the team in scoring this year.
I also believe that the Atlanta Hawks will have two representatives at this year’s All-Star Game with Jeff Teague and Al Horford. As Horford enters a contract year, I fully expect the long-time Atlanta Hawks’ center to have an excellent campaign, and will perform well when shifting to the power forward position at times. The season is upon us, Hawks fans. Stay True to Atlanta.
