Atlanta Falcons: 5 Players to Watch vs. Tampa Bay
By John Buhler
I love Julio Jones in this game. The start wideout for the Atlanta Falcons was finally healthy after the mini bye before Week 7’s road date with the Titans. Though the offense didn’t play well against Tennessee, I have a feeling it will get back to good against Tampa Bay at home.
Atlanta hasn’t played at home in three weeks and that should elevate the team’s performance. Matt Ryan is lethal at home and a .500 quarterback away from Atlanta. The home field advantage only aids the Atlanta Falcons in this game. Look for Jones to thrive off the home crowd’s energy on Sunday.
I get the feeling that we will see Jones return to September form on the first day of November. Jones earned NFC Offensive Player of the Month in September and was briefly in the MVP conversation. A lingering hamstring issue got in the way, but a healthy Julio Jones is better than just about any receiver in football.

Look for the Atlanta Falcons to use Jones in many ways to exploit their lackluster pass defense. Jones will have over 10 catches for 125 yards and a touchdown on Sunday versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. At least three of those receptions will come in crucial 3rd and long situations. Jones’ performance will go a long way in getting Matt Ryan back on track.
