Georgia Bulldogs Toothless Against Gators, Lose 27-3
By John Buhler
The Georgia Bulldogs’ awful October ends in a 27-3 loss to the Florida Gators down in Jacksonville. Turnovers and dropped passes/punt returns ruined the Dawgs.
The Georgia Bulldogs have plummeted in October, going 1-3. The Dawgs have now lost two straight to the Florida Gators, dropping Saturday’s game 27-3. Georgia has not scored a touchdown since October 10th’s road loss in Knoxville to the Tennessee Volunteers. When RB Nick Chubb’s knee went in Neyland Stadium, so did the Dawgs’ offense.
Not even a change at starting quarterback could get this Georgia Bulldogs offense fired up. Faton Bauta threw four interceptions this afternoon. Wasn’t the game plan in using Bauta to go with a more mobile quarterback? Dropped passes and an ineffective running game did the Dawgs in today.
This is the third year in a row that the Georgia Bulldogs will not represent the SEC East in the SEC Championship, despite being picked to win the division each of the last three years. Florida has all but clinched the division on Halloween, as the Gators move to 7-1 (5-1) on the year.

The shame in the game is that the defense, at times, looked strong. The unit is improving under DC Jeremy Pruitt, with a committed pass rush and decent run stopping. However, even if the defense pitches a shutout, that won’t matter because this offense cannot score points.
I’m beginning to wonder if this team is even going to reach a bowl. Yes, I’m worried about all four of the Georgia Bulldogs’ remaining games (Kentucky, @Auburn, Georgia Southern, @Georgia Tech). In a game that Georgia had no pressure to win, I’m still disappointed in the Dawgs.
Mark Richt is now 5-10 against the Florida Gators. 3 of those 5 wins came against Will Muschamp. How were the Dawgs ranked #8 in the country versus Alabama on October 3rd? Talk about a fall from grace for these Georgia Bulldogs.
Even if the Dawgs don’t win another game in 2015, Mark Richt will still be back in Athens in 2016. It’s obvious that the saving grace of this program is slinging the pigskin magnificently in Lake Stevens, Washington. January can’t get here soon enough. Jacob Eason, you’re our only hope.

I love Halloween, but Georgia, you’re making it very difficult. In the Mark Richt Era, this is a .333 team against their arch rival down in Jacksonville. Florida is a strong team and they will play hard in the SEC East, representing our lackluster division. At this point, I’m not even sure if Georgia deserves to go to a bowl. This feels worse that 2010. Go Dawgs?
