The Georgia Bulldogs defeated the Kentucky Wildcats 27-3 on Saturday. That was their sixth win of the season, which means UGA football is bowl eligible once again!
There were so many off the field issues surrounding Head Coach Mark Richt that Dawg Nation nearly forgot that we had a game versus Kentucky on Saturday. Fortunately, the Georgia Bulldogs played cohesively and delivered a complete beatdown of the Wildcats at home, using the Wildcat formation nonetheless.
HC Mark Richt wasn’t kidding when he said that the new-look offense of Georgia would prominently feature direct snaps to a receiver/tailback. The Dawgs played great defense and managed to cut down on penalties and costly turnovers in this game.
Even through all the turmoil leading up to this weekend’s game, the Georgia Bulldogs still can finish 9-3 (5-3). Maybe that’s good enough to enter the bowl game ranked? On second thought, winning ten games would essentially guarantee a Top 25 finish. With how truly awful October was in 2015 for the Dawgs, I’ll take it.
As Georgia prepares for SEC West nemesis Auburn down on The Plains, here are the four big takeaways I had from the Dawgs’ important victory over the Kentucky Wildcats.
