Atlanta Falcons: 5 Players to Watch vs. Colts
By John Buhler
The Atlanta Falcons enter Sunday afternoon’s game versus the Indianapolis Colts as a 4-point home favorite in Week 11.
The Atlanta Falcons will play their first game coming off their Week 10 bye when they host the Indianapolis Colts for a rare home meeting. Though Indianapolis will not have starting QB Andrew Luck available, the Colts have won both of 40-year-old backup Matt Hasselbeck‘s starts. Indy in 4-5 on the year and are in a tight race in the AFC South with both the Houston Texans (4-5) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (4-6).
Atlanta hopefully got some much-needed rest during their bye week. The injuries were starting to compound exponentially in the weeks leading up to the bye, with several starters out for the Atlanta Falcons’ last game versus the San Francisco 49ers, a 1-point road loss to a mediocre football team.
While Atlanta enters Week 11 with a two-game lead over 6 4-5 teams for the final NFC Wild Card spot, the Falcons need to play a more cohesive brand of football to seek their playoff destiny. Many have written off the Falcons already for making the playoffs. It’s understandable given how poorly the club has played in the last month and a half.
Hopefully the Atlanta Falcons used their bye wisely and enter Sunday afternoon’s home game versus the Indianapolis Colts recharged. Here are five players on the Falcons I’m looking at having big games for the team.
