The Georgia Bulldogs finished the 2015 NCAA regular season at 9-3 (5-3). Here are five teams the Dawgs could face in their holiday season bowl game.
The Georgia Bulldogs will go bowling for the 19th straight season. Only Florida State (34) and Virginia Tech (23) have been to more consecutive bowl games than the Georgia Bulldogs.
This will mark the 15th straight bowl game that Mark Richt has led the UGA program to. Under Mark Richt, the Georgia Bulldogs are 9-5 in their 14 bowl games. Last year, the Dawgs beat the Louisville Cardinals in the Belk Bowl in Charlotte, 37-14.
At 9-3 (5-3) on the year, there is no conceivable way that the Georgia Bulldogs will make the College Football Playoff or receive any invitation to a New Year’s Six Bowl. The Dawgs likely will play in a southeastern regional game versus a team from either the Big Ten or the ACC.
Likely destinations for the Georgia Bulldogs are in no particular order Charlotte (Belk Bowl), Nashville (Music City Bowl), Orlando (Citrus Bowl), Jacksonville (Gator Bowl), Shreveport (Independence Bowl), or Tampa (Outback Bowl).
Here are five teams that UGA could likely end up playing their 2015 bowl game against. Should the Georgia Bulldogs come away victorious, that would mean back-to-back 10 win seasons for the football program. Not bad, given the team’s best player went done mid-season due to turf malfunction.
