Atlanta Falcons: NFC Power Rankings, Week 14
By John Buhler
The Atlanta Falcons have lost their last five games and are nearly out of playoff contention. Where do they fall in this week’s NFC Power Rankings?
Though the Atlanta Falcons just keep on losing football games, tied for the second longest losing streak in the NFL with the St. Louis Rams at five games, the Dirty Birds are still at .500 with four games left and still somehow in playoff contention.
Shockingly, with the Dallas Cowboys’ win over the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football, every team in the NFC has at least four wins and are still mathematically in either a Wild Card or a Divisional race. Only the 12-0 Carolina Panthers have clinched a playoff spot and will clinch a first-round bye with either a win over Atlanta in Week 14 or losses by Green Bay and Minnesota.
Certainly in Week 14, some teams in the NFC will fall to 4-9 and have their playoff aspirations for 2015 brought to an end. Atlanta would still technically be in the playoff mix even after a Week 14 road loss to undefeated Carolina, though a 6-7 record entering Week 15 could make getting into the playoffs nearly impossible.
Without further ado, let’s take a look at this week’s NFC Power Rankings.
