Atlanta Hawks: Eastern Conference Power Rankings, Dec. 17
By John Buhler
The Atlanta Hawks are hanging around 8th place in the East, but only a few games back of 1st place. Where do the Hawks land in this week’s power rankings?
As we enter the last two weeks of 2015, the Eastern Conference is as tight from top to middle as we’ve seen in years. The 10th place Boston Celtics are two games over .500 and are only 3.5 games back of the 1st place Cleveland Cavaliers.
These power rankings have been very interesting as teams in the Top 10 move seamlessly up and down the weekly standings. A hot streak will put a team in the Top 4, likely bound to have home court advantage in the first round, while a brief losing streak will drop a team possibly out of the playoffs.
Every win and loss in the tightly packed Eastern Conference has made the league more exciting than I could have though possible this early in the season. Realistically 12 or possibly even 13 teams in the East have a shot at making the playoffs this season. Only the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets seem already out of it at this point.
Without further ado, here are the Eastern Conference Power Rankings, the December 17th edition.
