Atlanta Hawks: Eastern Conference Power Rankings, Dec. 24
By John Buhler
The Atlanta Hawks have won five straight games to ascend in the Eastern Conference. Where do they land in this week’s Eastern Conference Power Rankings.
The Atlanta Hawks are riding a five-game winning streak since last Wednesday’s win over the Philadelphia 76ers. Only the Cleveland Cavaliers and the San Antonio Spurs have a longer active winning streak or six and seven, respectively.
With the NBA’s Eastern Conference being so tight towards, a simple three or four-game winning or losing streak greatly affects the conference’s hierarchy. Entering Christmas Day, only five games separate first-place Cleveland and tenth-place Charlotte.
As we are about to enter the new year, at least ten, possibly up to thirteen teams in the conference if we want to include the Milwaukee Bucks can compete for one of eight Eastern Conference Playoff spots. This high-end competitiveness in the East has been the league’s best under-the-radar story in the first 30 games or so.
Without further ado, here is this week’s Eastern Conference Power Rankings, a Christmas edition.
