The Georgia Bulldogs will have their opportunity to upset the No. 15 team in the nation when the Texas A&M Aggies come to town Saturday for a 2:00 PM ET game.

Fresh off one of the best wins on the season against the Tennessee Volunteers Wednesday night, 81-72, the Georgia Bulldogs will play their toughest game on the season to date when they host the No. 15 Texas A&M Aggies at Stegeman Coliseum. Tipoff for this SEC game is at 2:00 PM ET and the game will air on ESPN U.

The Texas A&M Aggies are 14-2 on the year and are the only undefeated team in SEC play at 4-0. Their two losses this season have come against the Syracuse Orange in the Battle 4 Atlantis Championship game and a non-conference defeat in Tempe, Arizona to the Arizona State Sun Devils.

A&M has already beaten two ranked teams in then No. 10 Gonzaga and then No. Baylor. Not only is this team a sure-fire program to make the 2016 NCAA Tournament, this might stand as the best team in the SEC this season, as they could likely beat the Kentucky Wildcats and the South Carolina Gamecocks.

More from UGA Basketball

Entering Saturday’s home game against Texas A&M, the Georgia Bulldogs are in seventh-place in the SEC and only two games back of the Aggies at 2-2 in conference play. While Wednesday night’s win over Tennessee was a huge one for the Dawgs, they still haven’t won a road game this season and aren’t expected to win on Saturday either.

However should the Dawgs upset the Aggies, this hypothetical win could help catapult the Georgia Bulldogs in how the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee views them. A win over a ranked team even at home in a conference game is still a huge deal for potential Tourney bids.

For UGA to pull off the upset over A&M, the Dawgs will need to battle inside with forwards Yante Maten and Derek Ogbeide. Neither shot the ball well against Tennessee, but the Georgia Bulldogs did come out on top in that game due to excellent shooting from the perimeter in J.J. Frazier and Kenny Gaines.

Frazier, Gaines, and senior guard Charles Mann could help get the Dawgs their 10th win of the season, but the team will need to hold their own on the glass against a physical A&M team. This seems like a measuring stick game for the UGA program this season. We can figure out where exactly the program lies in the SEC hierarchy after this tough home game. Go Dawgs!
