The Atlanta Hawks have won their last three games. How does this recent win streak impact the Hawks’ place in this week’s Eastern Conference Power Rankings?

The Atlanta Hawks are on a bit of a winning streak, having won their last three games against teams they should beat. Atlanta is in the midst of a stretch of games where the team can really distance itself from the middle of the pack in the Eastern Conference into the East elite. With the East so tightly packed this year, taking advantage of any favorable part of a schedule is a must.

After two tough road losses to the Charlotte Hornets and the Milwaukee Bucks, the Atlanta Hawks have since rattled off wins against the Brooklyn Nets, the Orlando Magic, and the Portland Trail Blazers to move to 26-17 on the year and into sole possession of third place in the Eastern Conference.

Atlanta holds a sizable 3.0 game lead over the Miami Heat in the Southeast Division entering play Thursday night. Distancing themselves from the rest of the Southeast is paramount for the Hawks’ quest to get home court advantage in the first round. Barring the Central Division producing three juggernaut teams, Atlanta should get a top four seed in the 2016 Eastern Conference Playoffs.

The Atlanta Hawks are playing better basketball in the last week, due to improve point guard play and having a healthy Tiago Splitter down low coming off the bench. Let’s see where the Atlanta Hawks land in this week’s Eastern Conference Power Rankings.
