Georgia Bulldogs: 5 top targets for National Signing Day
By John Buhler
Demetris Robertson is a five-star athlete from Savannah, GA. At 5’11.5″, 175 pounds, Robertson will play either wide receiver in college. He played in the US Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas earlier this month and definitely has a great deal of interest in playing for the in-state Georgia Bulldogs.
Interestingly, Robertson’s other major school of interest is with the Pac-12’s Stanford Cardinal. He’s had his eyes set on Stanford for a while now, but had to improve his test scores to qualify for the academic juggernaut that is Stanford University.
Recently, Robertson did say that he is very high on Georgia not only because it is in-state, but that he would get to play with pro-style quarterback Jacob Eason in Athens. Though Stanford does have a promising quarterback commit as well in K.J. Costello, Eason is arguably the most sought-after quarterback prospect since Highland Park’s Matthew Stafford, who also committed to Georgia in 2006.
Robertson is the No. 4 player nationally in his recruiting class, the No. 1 wide receiver on the table, and the No. 3 player from Georgia. Dawg Nation got to see his elusiveness and sure-handedness in the US Army All-American Game. 24/7 Sports has Notre Dame as his leader at 42%, but the Georgia Bulldogs are a close second at 37%. Since he’s probably not going to Palo Alto, it seems likely that Demetris Robertson will Commit to the G and play for the Dawgs over the Cardinal or the Fighting Irish.
Prediction: Georgia Bulldogs
