Elijah Holyfield is a four-star running back out of Woodward Academy in Atlanta. While he is the son of former heavyweight champion boxer Evander Holyfield, the younger Holyfield looks to make his own athletic legacy Between the Hedges in Athens, GA.

Holyfield is another terrific running back in the UGA recruiting machine. With former five-star tailback Keith Marshall opting to leave Georgia after his fourth year in the program, this gives Elijah Holyfield a realistic opportunity to crack into the already deep running back rotation at UGA.

Holyfield has a great chance to emerge as the No. 3 tailback on the Georgia Bulldogs depth chart as a true freshman behind only Heisman hopeful junior Nick Chubb and former five-star tailback Sony Michel.

How Elijah Holyfield responds in summer practice since he isn’t an early enrollee will go a long way in how soon he gets on the field. If he can either pass protect or receive out of the backfield at a high enough of a level, new offensive coordinator Jim Chaney may feel comfortable with playing Holyfield as early as September for the Georgia Bulldogs.
